For students, parents and teachers: Exercises to teach writing skills, addressed in standardized testing at early grades. 

Spelling - Students learn to recognize the correct spelling of frequently used words. Basic patterns such as short-vowel, long-vowel, and blends as well as rules appropriate for the early grades are stressed.

Mechanics - Students learn to punctuate and capitalize correctly. The concept of a complete sentence is introduced and alphabetization is taught.

Usage - Subject-verb agreement, tenses, irregular verbs, and word order are discussed and practiced.

Proofreading - Students practice the skills learned in the previous sections. The proofreading exercises teach students to find and correct errors in context.
