Our Story
Sonsuh Educational Supplies began in 1992 at the family home of Raju and
Bindu Shah. Raju, Bindu, and their two young daughters had come to
Canada just a year prior from Nairobi, Kenya. Bindu was inspired by her
love of teaching and wanted to continue her passion for educating young
minds here in Toronto. Bindu began the company by selling educational
products out of the basement of their home. By 1993, the business was
expanding and the need for a large space was imminent. In November of
that same year, our convenient superstore location at 448 McNicoll
Avenue was opened and is still thriving today. In 2023, we
happily celebrated 30 years in business!
Our Mission
We work hand in hand with teachers and daycare staff to supply the
widest selection of relevant teaching materials such as arts &
crafts supplies, books, puzzles, games, infant-toddler toys, classroom
décor, sensory & special needs items, multicultural materials, as
well as classroom furniture, carpets, and storage products. Working
closely with suppliers, we are diligent in keeping prices as low as
possible, as well as ensuring products arrive safely, and in a timely
manner. Products are purchased from suppliers of good standing and are
tested with the highest standards and manufacturer’s guarantees. Sonsuh
Educational Supplies follows Health and Safety Canada standards, and
stands by products supplied, ensuring these products are of the highest
of quality. We are always looking for new ways we can work with you to
keep young minds motivated and interested in learning!
